ILR succcess at Solihull on 12/03/2014

Post by sroy » Thu Mar 13, 2014 10:06 am

Hi,

I had my appointment at Solihull PEO y'day and it's been successful. Thanks to immigration board members for all their help. The process was straightforward and I had my decision in about an hour and half.I reached there at 9.00 and was asked to fill in a form which contained about 4 very generic questions like are you aware of immigration history, are you in the 28 days category etc. After the form was filled out ,my ticket number was called and a staff came around to collect all the documents. The next step in the process was having the biometrics done.I was called into a room and was asked to confirm my name and dob. I was also asked to answer 2 random questions from the application which was then scanned to their system.Once that was verified my finger prints and photos were taken.I waited outside and in about 15 minutes I was asked to leave the building and was told they will give me a call on my mobile when a decision is made.I got a call in about half an hour and was told I have been granted ILR and my documents are ready to be collected. So overall the process was a pain free experience and all went smooth.

I took the following documents with me :

Payment sheet
Cover letter
Passport
BRP
Degree certificate
LIUK test pass certificate
PBS summary print out
12 months bank statements
11 months pay slips
Letter from employer , both current and previous
Letter from employer confirming annual leave for absence related proof
Personal letter to explain absence when I was not employed
P60s for last 4 years

Though my absence was well within 180 days ,I submitted letter from employers as it was easy for me to obtain that.

Thanks and good luck to all .

congratz

What proof you submitted for English - IELTS or Uni Letter or just PBS printout saying proof in last application.

Any reason for only 11 month statement and any question asked by UKBA?

Thanks

congratulations.

Regarding your self-explaining letters for absences, were they with regards to unpaid leave? If yes, did you provide any "compassionate" reasons, or just explained that you were on a short leisury vacations abroad?

I just submitted my degree certificate- my degree is from UK.I also submitted PBS summary and selected the option "already proved during previous apllication " in the form.

Regarding payslip, I wasn't working for month when I switched job so didn't have a payslip for that month.I had enough points and was not asked any questions.

Hope this helps.

Yes, they were unpaid leave as I wasn't employed during that time.It was just a regular holiday for about a month visiting family.

Dear Roy,

Congrats on your approval. I hope you will check this message and reply when you get a moment as I am in the exact same situation and am very concerned.

Can you give me an idea as what you included in the letter about your absence from the country during your period of unemployment.

I was concerned about putting the spotlight on this by writing a letter about this . Is this a good idea ? Any pointers from yourself or other members will be gratefully accepted.

Many thanks
