Treaty rights while travelling/looking for work

Post by LilyLalilu » Mon May 05, 2014 10:04 am

Hi All,

I am an EU Citizen and have lived in the UK for the past 3.5 years, exercising treaty rights as a worker. I am now planning on leaving my job to go travelling for 3 months and then return to the UK to look for a new job.
Would I still be exercising treaty rights as a self-sufficient person during the 3 months that I am travelling and the period that I am looking for work? Or would I need to take out CSI to make this period count towards the time lived in the UK necessary for a potential application for British Citizenship later on?

Thanks for your help!

You posted in the wrong place. This should be under 'EEA Applications'. You will probably get more info there.

You are not required to exercise treaty rights for periods you are not resident in the UK.
.job seekers don't need CSI. Self sufficient do.
Check the FAQ before posting!
Citizenship (adults, children, passport)
EEA (EEA FP, RC, PR, Surinder Singh)
