Whether it required English language test for Tier 2 general

Hello Friends,

I am applying for Tier 2 general visa on next month from india and am confusing on English language test eligibility to apply for visa. I have been working as a software engineer having 10 years exp in india and planing to move to UK through Tier 2 General sponsor visa.

Is it mandatory for me to take the IELTS or other language test before applying visa? Is any exception for people having Post graduation with IT experience?

Appreciate anybody share your experience who are traveled from india to UK on Tier 2 general visa.

you need to score 10 points for English. Read the T2 policy guidance para 119 and onwards for the various ways you can do this:
