Docterror,
After about 10 emails back & forth, the company that manages enquiries at the Embassy in Dublin promised to forward my details to the relevent dept back in 05/07 but I have not heard back from them since. I somehow get the feeling that the Embassy are not very keen to pursue the issue any further  Having given the whole thing some thought, I feel that the nationality of the lady who managed to successfully use the ppron method might have had some bearing on the outcome. Being an Indian, the HO is unlikely to consider such an application from me favourably. Also, doctors from abroad have received a lot of adverse publicity recently & the HO may try & delay my application if I try to pull a fast one on them. As a result, I have finally decided to use the conventional route, for which I would qualify in December.

If you want to use the ppron method you cannot allow yourself to be put off so easily. The Embassy have to agree to accept your application - it's the law.

Nationality is irrelevant. The Home Office must consider your application in line with the law and the Nationality Instructions.

Although if you are Indian, you probably need a visa to enter the Republic of Ireland.
