Trying to edit - will not allow me

Hello, I am trying to edit my post but the edit button is gone. Is there a way I can still edit a post made last night?
The first response to it was a rude reply, and I would like to adjust my phrasing in my post in order to discourage more unrelated, unwanted replies.
