Please help with FLR (M) Financial requirement

Post by cobrinut » Sun May 18, 2014 10:13 pm

Hello there, I hope someone can help me with this... I'm confused about what to put for the 7.3A section of the form. My husbands basic salary is 15,013 a year, but this last year he earned 19,446 including bonuses etc. I thought we would apply using catagory B, but he HAS been employed by the same people for many years. Is this the right catagory for us to apply for? If it is the correct category, then how should I answer 7.3A (iii) and (iv)? Please help us!!!! Thanks you.

If he's in salaried employment, what's his lowest Gross monthly wage slip in the last 6 months?

A gross monthly wage of £1481 under Cat A would produce an applicable income of £17772 PA.

Savings (held for 6 or more months) would produce a tariff income of £1600 PA. These added together appear to meet the Financial Requirement. Assuming you have no applicable children.

However, considering his variable income PA under Cat B would exceed the Financial Requirement also, I suggest you apply under Cat B and supply 12 months wage slips.

To err on the side of caution.

Thank you Amber for your help, I wanted to know, because it doesn´t seem clear...we have decided to apply using catergory B, in section 7.3a of the form, how should we fill this section? It seem like (iii) and (iv) we should answer no to both, but then that leaves us with no other option right? Thank you soooo much for all your help guys!

You'd answer yes to (iv) for Cat B.

But it says "if you answered no at (iii) has your sponsor been in other employment in the 12 months prior to the application other than their current employment" My husband has been emplyed by the same people since 2002, so surely the answer is no? Sorry I´m very confused about this!!

You'd fill in (iv) for Cat B (that is employment less than 6 months or variable income).
