Flying without passport

Hi! i would much appreciate quick response. So here's my struggle... University asked my to send them my passport to complete my student finance application. im not sure if they would send my passport back before the holidays starts, on which im planning to visit poland. my question is, if i could fly to poland with only provisional driving licence with me, as i know they let my brother fly with his ID only. i just want to know if the provisional driving licence would be any different.

EU citizen can fly with their National ID as well. Do you have your national ID?

Provisional driving license accepted same way as the full driving license as a personal ID.

you cannot fly out of the UK using only a driving license (provisional or otherwise), it is not evidence of your nationality. Only a passport or national ID card will do.
