Child born outside UK

Hi,

Could anyone please reply to the following specific condition,

"If a child born outside UK (in Pakistan) to a father who was in ILR at the time of birth but now obtained the British Citizenship. Can the child get the Citizenship or he had to wait for two years on dependant visa before he qualifies for ILR and then the Citizenship.

Please note the mother is on the dependant visa and only father has the British Citizenship.

I shall be grateful if you please reply accordingly.

As this is an application based on discretion: s3(1) BNA, the Mother would have to have ILR as well as the child before being able to register as British.

Hi,

Thanks for your response, can you please substantiate on this as I am not sure after reading 10 times section 3(1) BNA which you refers to. Does the child has to wait for 2 years to get the ILR and then get the Citizenship however the father is British national already.

Also if anyone had the same situation please respond.
