My wife recently made an application for permanent residency after living and working in the UK from Mar 2009 to present. The application was rejected on the grounds she did not submit sufficient original documentation.
My wife is Romanian and works on a contract basis and has had approx. 7 jobs in that period because of this. She had not had more than 2 months between jobs and has evidence of job seeking through job offer emails.
She submitted the following documents: Payslips, Banks Statements, Letters from Employers, Contracts from Employer and Emails confirming interview dates.
My question relates to submitting original documents because she can only send to the HO approx. 60% of what they are requesting as originals because of the following reasons.
- 4 employers uploaded their website with the payslips and she then downloaded, this would be classified as a copy but how can she get an original?
- She moved banks after 2 years and had no certified copies of her bank statements for the first two years or even photocopies. We used gas statements as proof of residency for these two years. They were downloaded from the companies website during that time. We have moved gas supplier now so the original gas company will not send us certified/original copies.
The refusal letter frustrates us because in our opinion they should off send a letter requesting additional information. We explained all of this in the original letter but we are not clear on how to proceed now. Do we make a fresh application and point out these issues again and likely the application will be rejected again, very frustrating.
