UK Tier 2 General Visa from India - Legal or not

We would like to come to UK from India with Tier 2 General Visa, one of the company in UK ready to sponsor for Tier 2 General for .net technology.
But they don't have any tie ups with other companies, we have to search our own job (Contract) and work through the sponsor company(Umbrella company).

Please give good suggestions.

1) Is this valid Visa / legal to work as contractor in UK?
2) is it hard to find contract jobs in UK for .net Technology?
3) are all the agencies accept Tier 2 General Visa ? or they prefer for other Visa type(PR)?
4) Can we move to permanent job roles with Tier 2 General (Suppose i got offer from other employer), move to other company in UK
5) which is the good time to enter UK for software job?

Could some one in UK with Tier 2 General, please give valid inputs as we are supposed to come to UK from India with in about 3 months.

I am in a similar situation as you, just that it is a different technology I work on.

Can you share the umbrella company name you are using? I have a bit of experience with some and can share it with you.
