Changing nationality while on Indefinite leave

Post by akhurshid » Tue May 27, 2014 6:40 pm

Guys,

Just need some information before it comes to making a decision.

Me and wife both are from Pakistan and have ILR granted in aug last year.
Wife was born and brought up in middle east and had applied for nationality before we got married.
She might get her application approved according to the rumours. That country does not allow dual nationality so she'll have to give up her Pakistani nationality.

My question is that what would happen to her ILR in case if she gives up her Pakistani nationality and take new Nationality? Do we need to inform home office about passport/nationality change

Any help would be appreciated.

The reason I have believed the rumours, is because her sister has already been given nationality and her brother has been called.
The whole family had been waiting for the decision for about 15 years. This country the only one to offer nationality in middle east.
Coming back to the question asked, would her new nationality affect ILR or do we need to contact home office?
