Dependent from different country

Post by miaoza » Thu May 29, 2014 5:13 pm

Hi all,

I currently hold a T2(general) visa and would like to bring my fiance across on the same dependent visa. However, she resides in a different country to where I am originally from and as such, her contact address, country and nationality is different to mine. Is it normally an issue in issuing a dependent visa? Is it a requirement that we are first married before this is likely to be approved? I would prefer to not fork out £600 only for the application to be rejected.

Really appreciate any responses.

Thanks

Only if you have lived together for 24 months prior to coming to UK if that was less then 6 months ago or so. Doesn't seem to fit your circumstances.

Appreciate the prompt response.

Given that we are to be married soon anyway, does marriage provide grounds for a dependent even though we do not officially live together?

Many thanks

Marriage is fine for dependant unless it is a sham marriage. (not saying it is!)
