Switching Employer - COS Start Date

Hi,

I'm switching employment, moving from one tier 2 sponsor to another. I have already received Biometric Card for new employer. The Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) start date is 1 July.

The start date on the COS was tentative and I was asked to wait for the BRP card issuance before notifying current employer. My current employer now wants me to stay till 31 July.

As my new CoS starts from 1 July, I understand that I am not allowed to work for my current employer after that date, however after speaking to my new firm's immigration advisors they have assured me that they I can work till 31 July if they inform the home office of my delayed start at the new employer.

Has anyone encountered this situation before. Will really appreciate any advice.

Hi,

I am in the same situation, could anyone help me please !

I am currently working under tier 2 visa for my current employer which expires on March 2016. I want to change a job with new sponsor so going to apply new change of employment tier 2 visa.

I got my CoS reference number today with the start date as 30th may 2014 which is today but he actual start date accepted between us is 1st of august 2014 and this was mentioned in employment contract.

My question is?

Can i continue to work with my current employer until 1st of august? will it be any problem ? or can i ask my new sponsor to change the start date?

I feel the start date they mentioned is wrong in my scenario.
