tier 5 visa rejection

Post by ramnath » Fri Jul 31, 2009 8:30 am

my application for tier 5 visa was rejected because of "insufficient funds". I had submitted a letter from the bank that i had fixed deposits for > 2000 GBP against a requirement of only 800 GBP but ECO rejected the application saying that the bank did not confirm that the money can be withdrawn anytime. To save time i have applied again with the visa fees and with a letter from the bank saying that the funds can be withdrawn anytime. My CoS is valid till october.Should i have given a new CoS along with the second application? Are there any chances of rejection again? am worried as i have only 4 weeks to join in the UK.

Did your sponsor tick the box on the CoS to verify your funds? If so, you don't even have to provide bank statements.

I believe that when a visa is refused the consulate usually treat the CoS as 'used', which means your sponsor would have to issue a new one. Your sponsor can check this by going into the system and viewing your certificate. If it says Assigned you can use it again, if it says Used you need a new one.

bank statement

Post by turtlenga » Thu Aug 27, 2009 7:27 pm

Hi
I'm applying for a Tier 5 VISA as well. I have 2 joined bank accounts and for each bank I asked for:
a letter confirming that I have access to the account at all time
a letter stating that my balance has always been greater than 800GBP for 3 months consecutively before my application.
I was advised by my lawyer to created spreadsheet with OANDA conversion rate calculating funding available in the previous 3 months, each day for each bank separately and cumulatively. You can PM me for a copy.
Can you tell me how long it takes from the day you sent your passport out and the day you receive your passport back?
Kind regards

Are you eligible for a tier 5 visa?

Yes, I have more than 800 GBP at any time for the previous 3 months
and I have a letter of sponsorship from a uk university
I'm just pressing on time right now because my F1 US VISA is running out in 2 weeks so some idea on how long the process takes would be nice

How long the entry clearance process takes depends on where you apply. LA take 1-2 days usually, whereas Canberra take over a week (was 6 weeks until recently) etc. As you have already applied at least once you should have a good idea how long they are taking at your consulate / High Comm.

So you mean a tier 4 visa not tier 5 then?

No, I am applying for Tier 5 as a temporary worker for a UK University, gov authorized exchange.
I only need the information of how long it would take to get my passport back (with or without the VISA) from the NYC British Consulate.

name on bank statement for tier 5 visa

Post by stressed1 » Wed Mar 24, 2010 12:54 pm

Hi
I recently sent my documents and application for the tier five visa and am stressed about a few things. firstly my bank statement was an official printed transaction list from the beginning of the month stamped with the banks letter head and logo.. will this be suffient as my actual quarterly statement wasnt due yet? also this statement had my shortname as my initials and surname instead of my full name on it.. is this ok?

Dear sir,

I'm applying for tier 5 visa sponsored by the royal college of obstetricians and gynecologists through a hospital, I have read that the bank statement should be at least of 90 days duration. The problem is that i have a bank statemant of more than 3000 GBP, but unfortunately, for 2 months only. Can I apply for it now or should I wait for 90 days as said, my sponsor is type A as regard tier 2 but not tier 5.
Thank you
