Good day! I have learned a lot reading from posts here. and I would like to ask something about tier 2 dependent visa. My husband will apply for a Tier 2 Visa on August 2014 but my Visa will expire in November. I have a read somewhere that it is still possible for him to apply but I should inform the British High Commission that I will extend my visa. What forms of proof do I need to submit to prove to them that I will extend my visa? Do I just need to write a letter and state it there or do I need to get something from my employer? Also, I have just been accepted for a new post in the same employer, Can i submit my job offer letter as a proof? Thank you so much! I will be waiting for your replies patiently.

if your are at present in the UK on a T2 visa expiring in Nov 14 and your husband applies for a PBS dependant visa in Aug 14 then his visa will only be valid till Nov 14. A letter expressing your intention to extend your visa will not help.
if you meet the requirements you can extend your visa at any time before he applies (with a new CoS) and then your husband's visa will have the same expiry date as yours.

Thank you for the reply. I already consulter the HR dept of my employer and they said that if I apply for an extension it can only be done by october or november as that's the only time they can issue a new CoS.. If I apply for a renewal earlier the HR said that I might be refused even if I have a new CoS... I am aware that my husband's visa will only be until Nov 2014 and I just want know what could help me for his application.. Thank you so much!

not so, they can assign a new CoS to you any time. If they don't have an available allocation they can request one through the SMS, it only takes a few days

they are wrong

to extend your visa before Aug 14, as suggested above
. Thank you so much!

Hi Manci,
Please can you view and reply to my post. I couldn't find how to post it to your perusal. Please can you search on my name or 'not a dependent, would my wife eligible for ilr along with me'
