BC Application rejected - Baby born in IND to BC Parents

Please Kindly help us!

I & my wife are British Citizens, I have british passport and OCI card, but my wife has only her naturalization certificate (didn't apply for her british passport yet).

Our son was born a month back.

Question # 1: We understand that we can only apply for his British Passport and cannot apply for his Indian Passport, is that correct?

Last week we have sent our son's British Passport application to New Delhi British High Commission - with his birth certificate give by local authorities, both of our naturalization certs, my notarized british passport all pages, my wife's Indian Passport Original, our marriage certificate, all medical records including pre & ante natal, hospital discharge certificate, my flat's electricity bills (india) and property tax bill (india).

Our application was sent back a week later (this monday) saying that, we need to produce, Indian: Tax Letter, Driving License, Voter Identity card, Pan Card, Birth Certificates etc...

Question # 2: I am living in UK from past 6 years, how will I be having all these documents? What should I do?

Can someone please kindly help me know what to do here? How to proceed forward.

We are clueless on what needs to be done.
