Making a PEO appointment before return of documents

Post by sjb1983 » Fri Jun 06, 2014 3:19 pm

Hi,

1) We are thinking about cancelling my partner's application for ILR, which we submitted through a Settlement Checking Service yesterday.

2) No payment has been taken and the only original document they have taken is her Life in the UK test certificate, of which no copies can be obtained from the test centre, although we have a full colour copy made before submission. The original is with our application on its way to the Home Office (not yet received/acknowledged by them).

3) We'd like to re-submit through the premium service instead having received the extra funds to do so today (the day after submitting!) but we don't know if we'd have to wait until all documents have been returned or if we could go ahead, stating the withdrawal confirmation code/number and telling them that the original test certificate is in the previous application and whether this would be enough as they can access details of this on their computer records?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Steve

If you withdraw your application you will lose your fee and have to pay again. You say your application hasn't yet been received but it may well have done if it was dispatched yesterday. Acknowledgements take some time to send out.

OK, thanks.

And if the payment hasn't come out before the withdrawal request goes through the system? We will still have to pay?

I was told by a UKBA/Home office call centre operative to cancel the card we put down on the application form - doesn't sound like very official advice, I must say.

Call centre staff aren't renowned for giving the correct information. Please continue in your original thread to avoid confusion.
