Are you trying to apply from the US for the UK visa?

Why was the US visa rejected?

I've applied US Business Visa from India and got rejected under 214(b) on Oct 2006 as i was not able to answer for the question raised by consular( i didn't have much experience on that particular project, but consular asked about the project ). Now I've applied UK Work permit from India and waiting for work permit and stamping.

Is it create any problem for getting UK WP Visa Stamping?

Thanks,
Sankar

Section 214(b) is part of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). It states:

Every alien shall be presumed to be an immigrant until he establishes to the satisfaction of the consular officer, at the time of application for admission, that he is entitled to a nonimmigrant status...

To qualify for a visitor or student visa, an applicant must meet the requirements of sections 101(a)(15)(B) or (F) of the INA respectively. Failure to do so will result in a refusal of a visa under INA 214(b). The most frequent basis for such a refusal concerns the requirement that the prospective visitor or student possess a residence abroad he/she has no intention of abandoning. Applicants prove the existence of such residence by demonstrating that they have ties abroad that would compel them to leave the U.S. at the end of the temporary stay. The law places this burden of proof on the applicant.

So your US visa was refused because they didn't believe that you'd go home afterwards?

I doubt this will make a difference to the UK application.

Unless they are looking for the same hurdle to be met by what evidence you present.
What the US did won't impact how the uK assess your application, just that you might want to consider what evidence you show to the UK that add credibility for the purposes of your visa

The UK don't look for confirmation that the applicant will return home. They do for visitors and students, but not work permit holders.

... if the work permit is issued for longer than 12 months...
