Hi people. First of all I want to thank all the great guys & gals that helped me with my previous problem here on immigrationboards!
This is a question about passports. My Malaysian friend traveled to visit me here in UK last month, via Amsterdam, but was returned to Malaysia due to a misunderstanding at Amsterdam border control. He wants to try again, this time coming straight to UK, but is afraid the cancellation stamp on his passport might be a kind of 'red flag'.
His friends tell him to get a new passport. I think that may not be a good idea as it will be scanned and still bring up information from the old passport (??), which might look like he is trying to hide something major when really it was a minor misunderstanding.
Am I correct about the scanners etc? Should he just use his current passport? Big thank you.
