How to time the Tier 2 General Visa on getting new job

Hi All,

Iam currently on a Tier 2 ICT Visa which was issued in October 2010. I have got a new job as a result of which I will be switching to Tier 2 General. I was hoping to understand how should I go about getting my new visa so would be grateful if you could help me with the following:

Should i resign from my current job and then apply for a T2G with the new sponsor?
Should i hand in my notice period and at the same time apply for the new visa?
Should i first get my new visa and then resign from my current job?

My concern is that if i resign from my current job and for some reason i dont get the new visa, i'll be left with no job!

[color=#0000FF][/color] You can apply for your new T2G Visa upto 3 months before the start date on COS.
So you can plan for Premium T2G visa and can decide on resignation based on outcome of T2G application.
