Employer Letter for Schengen Visa

Post by raykau » Mon Jun 09, 2014 1:07 pm

Hello All

I would be grateful to have your views on this please.

My wife and me are planning to travel to Switzerland and intend to apply for Schengen Visa soon.

Both of us have our ILRs and are working in the UK.

As we intend to apply for a Tourist Schengen Visa for a holiday upto 5 days, do we need a letter from the Employer for both of us as well?

I would have thought that this would not be a requirement for Holiday / Tourist purposes but that is what is outlined on the "Required Documents" section.

Any advice on this will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, getting one employment letter would suffice. You can submit the marriage certificate for your spouse. Authorities in Switzerland may require the marriage certificate to be attested so you may want o check this with VFS or the Swiss embassy.
