Query on applying for ILR from Tier 2(General) Visa.

Basic Criteria to apply for ILR from Tier 2(General)Visa is we need to complete 5 years in UK with Tier 2(General) Visa with some other criterias.

my query is if we are switching from one employer to another employer with Tier 2(General)Visa, is the start date going reset for eligibility to apply for ILR ?

e.g. suppose employer A had sponsored Tier 2 on 1st Jan, 2012 and again employer B had sponsored Tier 2 on 1st Jan, 2013.
Will the start date reset to 1st Jan, 2013 from the 1st Jan, 2012 ? Please clarify!

Actually I am in a process of changing my sponsor.
Is it the same process when applied for new Tier 2(G) Visa ?
e.g. maintaining bank balance, biometric test, visa fees and apply from india (as I got my Tier 2(G) from india earlier) or we can apply from UK itself ?

is my new explorer going to issue a new CoS ?
Is my old Tier 2(G) going to cancel and we are going to get a new Tier 2(G) visa stamp on my passport ?
what is the procedure ?

In short:
1) The process/documentation more or less remains the same. You can apply from within UK itself.
2) Yes, a new CoS will be required
3) Yes, the old one will be cancelled and replaced by the new one (if it gets approved). It will not be stamped on the passport. You will get it in the form of a BRP.
