General Visitor Visa Extension

Post by newbiepk » Wed Jun 11, 2014 1:07 am

Hello everyone,

I have an ILR and my son is British. I have recently separated from my husband and I need my mother around to help me move to another place. Her visit visa expires in July. She arrived in the UK in mid May and was granted visa in January 2014.

My question is can I apply for extension while she is in the UK ?

Regards.

You can apply, but it won't be granted unless in extreme circumstances back home, such as Civil War, Tsunami etc, not to help you move.

She could possibly apply for another one but only from her home country and even that will likely set the alarms off being so soon after the other one.....

Extend your visa wrote:You may be able to extend your visa as long as the total time you spend in the UK is less than 6 months - eg if you apply for a 3 month visa, you can apply to extend it for 3 more months.
