EEA FP No Longer for Family Members of UK Citizens?!

Post by infors » Thu Jun 12, 2014 11:07 pm

Hi all,

I have just seen the latest Home Office website about EEA Family Permits and it now doesn't include the statement about UK citizens exercising treaty rights in another country. Does this mean that it is no longer possible for a UK citizen living and working in another EU country to apply for an EEA FP for their non-EEA spouse living with them?

Cheers!

Hiya.

I am a wife of a British citizen living in an EU country (Cyprus), you can still use the EEA FP though rules are very strict now, I submitted my application last May26 so I will be recieving some answer on monday.

Feel free to ask me questions, I am not expert to this kind of application but I read alot and people on this forum helped me alot.

:D :D :D

Yes, it looks trickier than it used to be, I see the main issue is to do with proving 'centre of life' in the EEA country. That should be fairly easy, I've lived and worked in Germany for 9 years. What sort of documentation did you provide to make your case?

Thank you...I agree that this forum is a lifesaver!!

My husband lived here in cyprus since he was 13years old so I provided his school records, certificates from his karate lessons, scuba diving, freemason membership etc (anything that shows his life is already here), employment letter, his yellow slip (registration certificate), marriage certificate, evidences that we lived together here in EU member state, evidences of our relationship (we just got married).

To be honest, I submitted a lot of papers because of the changes of the rules.
