Hi everyone im British and my partner is from Brazil on limited leave to remain she has just started work as she has NO RECOURSE TO PUBLIC FUNDS she will not be able to claim working tax credits.

My question is as her partner will i be able to claim them for her? how should i go about this? her hours are 40+ per week.

Ou make a joint claim for tax credits, thus she can receive WTC, if on a low income.

I am not working but am looking after our child, we already receive CTC joint claim (me as the main claimant due to her having no recourse to public funds) do you mean like that amber?

Am i right in thinking as long as its a joint claim because ie i have access to public funds ie British citizen then it means she will be okay and it would not be considered claiming public funds when it comes to applying for ILR?

Sorry to be a pain Amber but can you be more specific?

Do you mean yes we are ok there will be no problem because we have a child? (we have a child)

Or do you mean because we have a child it is going to cause us a problem?
