Visa for parents of dependent visa holder

Hi All,

I have got a dependent visa (my partner is a student, and got a Tier 4) and wonder is there any point to sent the invitation letter for my parents who want to come to visit me in UK?

I understand that under my visa status, I am not allowed to sponsor them, but thought I can support their application by the invitation letter?!
