Visa application withdrawal

Post by Ubaidullah88 » Fri Jun 13, 2014 1:24 am

Hi Everyone,

I applied for a student visa and midway through my application process the HTS status of college has been revoked and i have been given 60 days time to look for any other college. But I am not interested in doing so, I just want to wait till about 50 days has been over and withdraw my application and leave the country. So my question is, if i withdraw my application will my passport be sent to my home and given 28 days to leave the country or is it that they will send my documents with passport to the airport asking me to book a ticket and leave the country immediately by collecting my passport from the airport ?

Many Thanks

If you want to withdraw your application and leave the country UKBA will hand over your passport at the airport after you book the ticket and send them the ticket copy

Thanks for the reply shaq, will I be given a letter stating the same by the home office so that it will be helpful for me id I needed to apply again in future ? Also will I be considered overstayed if I withdraw my application ?
Thanks

Please find the following link >

https://eforms.homeoffice.gov.uk/outrea ... ments.ofml

So when you will receive the letter you can apply through there to return for the documents. No you will not be considered as an overstayer as you are withdrawing your application in accordance to UKVI (its not UKBA anymore, they have changed the name) policy. In future if you want to come to UK to study well I think you have to give them a credible answer why you left the country without continuing your education and why you want to come back again.

Thank you very much shaq, just a last query, what if I do this way, if I dont provide the home office with any CAS letter and just keep quite even after the 60 days time they have given me, they said they will be refusing my visa (as stated in the letter sent by them). So if they do it, this way I will get a month or so more to spend in UK and earn a bit before I leave. As I assume they will give me 28 days to leave the country after rejecting it. So what would you suggest ? A withdrawal would be better or a refusal of this kind.

Many thanks

It's up to you. even if you want to withdraw your application it will take some time to get back your documents. So may be you can wait till they refuse your visa and then leave within that 28 days time.

As I have mentioned earlier no matter whether your visa has refused and you go back to your home or you withdraw application and go back to your home if you want to come back later on you have to explain why you left the country without completing your study? And why you want to come back at that time?

Thank you shaq. Do you have any idea when would the home office ask me to show the proof of my ticket that I am leaving ? Because the link you sent me earlier doesn't say anywhere that I need to provide them a proof that I am leaving. Is it that they will be asking me for it in their reply when I ask them to return my documents and if so will they be giving me sufficient time to book my ticket ? Say at least week or two to book it ...

Thanks

If you want to withdraw your application then if you check on the link you have to contact your local ICE team and they will give you certain time within that time limit you have to get the ticket and go back to your home country. I have no idea how many days they will give you.
