British Sponsor's Benefits Entitlement?

Post by laddoo » Sun Jun 15, 2014 2:53 pm

Hi,

I'm a British citizen, my kids are also British citizen and I plan to apply for my wife's settlement visa. She's a citizen of a non-European country. If I show savings to meet the 'financial requirement' part of the visa, can I claim CHILD BENEFIT and CHILD TAX CREDIT without affecting her application adversely?

I've used different Benefits calculators to find out but one showed that I'm entitled and the other showed no I'm not. Any help/advice/information regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Yes, you may claim benefits.

The savings required is £62,500.

Thanks for your reply Amber. You're right the savings I need to show are GBP 62500. With these savings, you're saying I can still claim 'Child Tax Credit' and that it won't affect the 'settlement' visa application negatively?
