Email from UKVI: application not processed, more than 3weeks

Post by Mrs.mdeben » Mon Jun 16, 2014 10:14 am

Hi, i received an email today about my application that is not process yet but its 3weeks now and I applied for EEA FAMILY PERMIT which supposed to be treated as priority, worst is they said its not even opened yet. Is this a mistake? By the way, I sent them email last saturday because I cant track my application and I think the tpcontact has a website problem but then its the UKVI who answered me about it. This is the email:

Dear Lady jo Reyes Thank you for contacting the UKVI International enquiry service. This is to inform you further to your query We have checked the status of the application. It has not been processed and hence no decision has been taken. You can drop us an email in few days time and we can check again for you. We have service standards for processing UK visa applications which state that we will process: 90 per cent of non-settlement applications within 3 weeks, 98 per cent within 6 weeks and 100 per cent within 12 weeks of the application date; and 95 per cent of settlement applications within 12 weeks of the application date and 100 per cent within 24 weeks of the application date. 'Each application is assessed individually and processing times may vary, hence applicants are requested to be patient and wait for the processing to be completed. We will contact you once your application has been opened, once a decision has been made or, if necessary, while your application is being considered. We provide country specific information regarding visa processing times on our website Gov.UK. The direct link is https://www.gov.uk/visa-processing-times We hope that this has answered your query. For any further details, or should you need to contact us again please refer our website at https://ukvi-international.faq-help.com/ kind regards Nehorn UK Visas and Immigration International Enquiry service

It's a little long but it's not illegal as such. Some take longer than others and, therefore, they have a backlog.

Keep in touch with them.

My civil partner got his EEAFP after 8 days. However, I'm not British any more.

Hi chaoclive. Ive been reading ur situation ever since and Im happy that u sorted it out now. Anyway, here in cyprus, everything takes 3 weeks and more. Most of my friends got it in 3weeks, no one got it in less than 3weeks. Its kind of crazy that when I applied, they told me that I will be expecting some call on the 3rd week but when I emailed them, they told me that they didn't even processed it yet. I'm getting nervous because its a long time now and worst is it will be denied. Why they dont just deny it and give it back as soon as possible so we can sort the problem out.

Hi, don't worry yet. If they haven't opened it yet, that means that they're also not in a position to reject it just yet. Just hold one, at least you will know soon.

Actually, I don't see why they would reject the application as your husband has been working in Cyprus for a long time. As long as you have submitted proof that should be ok! Relax for now :)

You are right to consider your other options, e.g. renunciation of British citizenship. Remember you would also be able to move to another country closer to the UK if that's where you want to end up, e.g. Ireland. Of course, this may not be ideal but it is another option.

Hey, thanks.

Were just really desperate to go back so we can start our life. It is so sad leaving cyprus as I grew up here and my parents lives here but there is no job anymore.

Anyway, thats the plan if ever i will get a refusal, renounce the britcitizenship then we will try to go in other Eu country because the processing here in cyprus is very very slow. If I need some help in the future on how can I apply for visa in Ireland, we'll give u a shout. Thanks again.
