Visitor Visa- 6 Months or 10 Years

Hello Everyone,

I am a British Citizen and would like my mother to visit me every year. She lives in India- is a widow ,is not earning and has no pensions. She has quite good bank balance, a 'plot of land' and has got a Life insurance policy of 50 Lacs (49,000 GBP) on her name. She also has a 10 year visitor visa of Canada where my elder sister lives. My Mother lives in a joint family with my grandparents and Aunty and Uncle. None of my other siblings live in India. I can sponsor her comfortably as i am working and have a house. I would like to apply for 10 years visa, so that she doesn't have to go through the process every year, but i am a bit scared and confused. As i am applying for the first time, is it advisable for me to apply for 6 months and then apply next year or should i just apply for 10 years or 5 years visa? (FYI- my Mum visited my elder sister in Canada last year and had to cut back her visit short as she had to do some work in India related to her life insurance policy)

Any kind of comments / advise would be more than helpful please

You'll never get a 10 year visit visa as a first time application.

Ok, So you think i should apply for 6 months ? or Maybe 2 years ?

6 month. Maybe that twice or three times first, you need to show a history of no issues, ones not enough really.
