Bank balance query for parents coming on visit visa

Hi friends,

I am looking to sponsor my parents from india for Uk visit. I will be taking care of their travel and living. My father age is 75 and mother is 67, do they need to show bank balance from their end?? My father is retired and is getting pension and does not have property to show as it is in village and don't have documents
