New to the board

Post by zeke » Tue Nov 02, 2004 12:29 am

Hello All!

I am new to this board, but am very impressed with the quality of information available on it.

By way of introduction, I am a Masters level California social worker with a specialization in geriatrics (old age issues) and much experience in medical settings. I was intrigued to investigate living and working in the UK via HSMP when I noticed advertisements in American social work publications urging readers to consider relocating to the UK. Apparently there is a massive shortage of social workers in the UK. (I've substantiated this with Internet research). The advertisements were placed by UK recruitment agencies. They are promising me that I will have a choice of work opportunities available to me...

I have questions, many questions (I promise to try to confine them only to issues that have not yet been addressed in the forum yet!) but first, I am curious about our moderators, who demonstrate much knowledge and wisdom. How do our moderators come by the knowledge they share? I am curious, not questioning anybody's credentials.

Thank you for the opportunity to participate in the board.
Be Well!
