Schengen visa for 1+ yrs?

Hi all.
We got our ILR a few weeks ago and we are now looking at applying for schengen visa to visit Europe more often.

Schengen history :

Me:
Schengen work visa, schengen visit visas - from France and Spain

My husband
Schengen visit visas from France and Spain

We are going to norway in mid august. We'd be very disappointed to get a visa for just those 6days !!

What can we do to get a 12-18months multiple entry visa?

Anyone here got 12+ months schengen visit visa? Does it depend on the embassy??
