Tier 2 General dependent

Post by nilsinha » Mon Jun 30, 2014 12:22 pm

Hi,

My husband is currently in uk on tier2 general visa. I have a dependant visa (currently am in India). My husband is changing his job but not the visa category, my COS and sponsorship being offered by a different company.
So, will this impact my (dependent's) current visa as am going to UK almost during my husband's new application in progress?

Or in other words, Do I need to apply again for dependent visa on the new sponsorer or not. Will I be allowed to enter UK on the old (Tier2) dependant visa, if my husband's new (tier2) visa is sanctioned few days before my arrival in UK?

Please reply.

Regards,
Nilanjana

Ideally, your current dependent visa will become invalid once your spouse is approved his new visa (based on the sponsorship of his new employer). I doubt you'll be able to travel on your old visa if your spouse gets the new visa before your travel date. If you were already in UK, you would have been able to apply for your dependent visa seperately at a later date.

You can either travel immediately before his visa is approved OR you can wait for his visa to get approved and re-apply in your country for a new dependent visa based on the new CoS.
