Non EEA with Residence Card - Passport not stamped

Post by Zhonor » Sun Jul 06, 2014 4:32 pm

Good day,

I am a non EEA citizen holding a residence card which is due to expire in 2016.

I am not sure if anyone has experienced this but I recently (2014) went on holiday twice and on return, my passport was not stamped with a return date by the immigration officer at Gatwick. My passport usually gets stamped but not when I went away this year. Is that now the rule that they don't stamp non EEA passport with residence card? Will it affect my EEA4 application in 2016 because I have no proof of return date?

To support your absence and return you may attach E-ticket/boarding card print etc.
Please donot send PM. Write in open forum to facilitate others too.

The Immigration Officers are not allowed to stamp the passport with RC. In fact, if they do, you should complain!

So odd because every year they will stamp my passport but this year when I took my baby (EEA citizen) along on holiday, they just look at my passport with the RC and that was it.

I have not tried going through the EU citizen line at the immigration border and should actually try and see if they will ask me to go Q at the international line. I heard that we could use the EU line with an RC but what happens once you obtain PR (EEA4)? Can we still go via EU line?
