Same level of work, doing the same type of role and at the same rate of pay (meets the minimum rate of pay for the role)- assuming these are all met and you are doing not more than 20 hours additional work then you will be ok to undertake the work. Extract from guidance:
Supplementary employment
In addition to the job specified on the certificate of sponsorship (CoS), the applicant can do extra work if it is:
in either a job on the shortage occupation list
or a job in the same sector and at the same professional level as the work for which the CoS was assigned
no more than 20 hours a week,
and outside the working hours covered by the CoS.
If they meet the above requirements the applicant does not need to inform the Home Office.
Your second point - I don't think I have grasped where you are going with the ILR and salary route.
Are you saying you do not earn £20,500 in your current role and need the p/t work to bridge the gap?
Or are you looking at the £35000 pa salary to access ILR post April 2016?
