And as they usually go to Spain, France and to Morocco he thought that he could visit the Uk with no problems but...I have tried to tell him that the Uk do not allow this!
Im just looking for information for them.....He has never experienced problems before as he considers himself very much Italian...but when I visted the UK visa website ...I told him that he would have to apply for a visa and also as of the 26 of July 2007 you also have to submit digital finger prints!!! Here is the following extract from the embassies website......
Has anybody got info on this???
The British Embassy in Rome has launched a new telephone based information service and website through our new commercial partner, WorldBridge Service, to assist applicants seeking a Visa for the UK. Visa information can be found on WorldBrige Service’s website and user-pay phone line. Please see our WorldBridge Service page for further details.
From the 26th July 2007 there will be two major changes to the visa application process. You will only be able to submit your visa application via our new commercial partner, WorldBridge Service, who will operate a Visa Application Centre in Rome. All visa applicants, unless otherwise advised, irrespective of nationality, will have to apply in person at the designated Visa Application Centre and provide their finger-scans and a digital photograph in support of their application. For further information please see biometric visa application process and biometric exemptions.
Applications can no longer be submitted by post or by the Visa Agencies previously listed on this website. We apologies for this disruption in our service, which has been caused by the changeover to the new WorldBridge Service application system.
The British Embassy in Rome is the only UK visa-issuing post in Italy. TheVisa Section in Rome is closed to the public. Please note that visa fees are not refundable.
Well, because France and Spain are part of the Schengen area, he doesn't need a visa to travel there. The UK isn't part of the Schengen, so he will need to get a visa from the British Embassy. How long will it take? It depends on their booking system - does he need to book an appointment or come anyday he's ready?
If he doesn't have a visa - he won't be allowed on the plane, simple as that, and their money will be wasted. It's odd he isn't listening to you! It doesn't matter to them if he 'feels' Italian - he isn't Italian nationality-wise and that's all they consider. Send him the link to the British Embassy website and tell him to get his application ready, or else lose his money and holiday.
