Tier 2 cos end Date

Hi all
The Difference between the start date and end date issued by my sponsor is 3 years or 3 years + 1 day I guess .But however I have applied for a Tier 2 priority visa for upto 3 years.

What is the situation here - Will they issue a Tier 2 general visa upto 3 years plus + 14 days from start date of COS, irrespective of end date
or will I be asked to pay the additional fee and apply for over 3 years leave to remain
