Job Change -Tier 2 Dependent - Update Visa

Hi,

I have a query regarding my wife's tier 2 dependent visa. Can you please advice.

I had a Tier 2 Gen visa from Sep 2010.My visa is renewed in 2013 after 3years from the initial visa and it has validity until 2016 sep.

My wife is a dependent on my visa and her Tier 2 dependent visa is also valid until sep 2016 after the first renewal in 2013.

This week I applied for a Job Change and my Tier2 visa sponsor has changed. I got a updated Tier 2 gen visa from the new company. This is now valid untill 2017.

My query is around the validity of my wife's visa. We did not update her visa yet. Her current Tier 2 dependent visa is valid untill 2016 sep. She still has 2years of validity on her visa. Do I need to update my wife's visa aswell? or can she continue with her current visa and update it at a later stage.

Please advice.

You wife's visa was deemed invalid the moment you got the new one. It's recommended to get her visa transferred based on your new visa.
