Filling PIO card for new born

Post by neesh » Sun Jul 20, 2014 7:44 pm

Hi All,

I am in the process of applying my new born's PIO. She is a British citizen by birth.

I had a few queries on how to fill certain parts of the form

1. In Section 3b (Permanent Address) what am i to fill? I rent in the UK and dont have a permanent address. Do i just fill the Present Address there?

2. In Section 17 (Name and complete addresses of two people living in India known to the applicant) Shall i just add the name of two of my relatives with their address and contact number?

3. In Section 18 (Thumb specimen in case of Minor), do i have a take thumb impression of both thumbs or just one thumb in both the boxes? Which one should it be in case of a baby girl?

4. Passport size photos - What is the size of the passport photos to be submitted with the form? I have a 35mmX45mm (as per the website) but i read somewhere that they want 51mmX51mm now. Which one should it be?

5. Lastly i am hoping they are not fussy about how the form is filled. I filled the word document before printing it. I hope they dont want it filled in hand. Any experiences?

I would appreciate replies especially from people who have recently applied. Thanks

hello,

I filled PIO form for my daughter as well. so here goes the answers:

1) Present address is fine.
2)relatives are fine.
3) any thumb would do, no one cares at the embassy.
4) passport size it is. 35x45
5) doesnt matter how you fill it.

You will need to take copy of all documents, inlcuding the form with photo on.
