Sick parent on Family Visit Visa

Post by mxgee » Sun Aug 03, 2014 11:39 pm

My mother has 5 year family visit visa. She is in UK from last 5 and half month and she suppose to fly back next week but sadly she got sick due to an exiting medical condition. She is still not feeling well and I don’t think she can travel back in her until she is recovered. I know visitors cannot stay more then 6 months unless there is a medical issue. Please advise what is the process to extend her stay for couple of weeks or a month so at least she can recover without affecting her visa conditions. She has got her all medications from back home but she still needs some time to recover. I don’t mind to visit a private doctor but I m not sure about the process.

She could try to extend it on medical grounds.
