Hi all,
I am on tier-4 visa in london and now a days trying for my mum's visit visa from pakistan. she visited me in 2012 as well.
i have a few questions and i would really appreciate your kind opinions.
1- She is showing around £4400 in her recent 3 months bank statement, would it be sufficient?
2- as she is a retired professor, govt is gonna give her a home in some govt society, she is been provided with a govt document with details of that home.
3- she is also recieving pension income which is monthly around £180(approx) 30k PKR.
4- She also teaches in an academy but that money is not transfered into her bank account, they give her cash in hand instead.
considering all above points, is it ok if she apply for 2 years visit visa?
I will highly appreciate any expert advise.

Hi Hasan,
I think it should be fine for her to get a visa. What will be the duration of her visit? I mean to say if she is coming to UK for a month or 2 then £4400 is sufficient but if she is planning to come (initial visit) for longer period like 5 months then this amount might not be sufficient (expenditures, travelling fares etc). I think Visa officer tends to calculate the required amount by looking at the duration of visit on the form and it solely depends if visa officer is satisfied with the applicant financial status.
As your mother has already visited UK, I believe she will get the visa easily this time. My mother also visited UK on a visitor visa in 2012 and then applied for two years visit visa last year and her application was successful.
All of your mother's financial details sound OK to me. It would be ace if she can get payslips from the academy where she teaches. I think most medium level businesses still pay the salary in cash and mention payment method as Cash on the payslips. I am sure her employer must have her payslips and can provide with upon request.
All the best for your Mom's visa application.
Thanks,
Hassan

You can also apply for a long-term visit visa if you can
prove you need to make repeat visits over a longer period.
You can stay for a maximum of 6 months on each visit and your visa can last for 1, 2, 5 or 10 years.

Dear Hassan/peppekelle
Thank you so much for your time. I really appreciate it a lot.
Her employer will provide her with the salary slips. And her initial visit would be for max a month.however would it be a plus point if she buys a return ticket and attach it with her visa app?
Also she has all the record of her pension slips which she can provide with the visa app, however do you have any idea that how many pension slips she should provide? And do you think attaching that govt house papers that she is gonna get would help as we'll?
Lastly To show the reason why she needs a two years visa, can she attach duration of my degree with her visa app e.g my CAS copy?
Best Regards,
Hassan

Hi Hassan,
I believe the amount £4400 should be sufficient if she is coming for one month on her initial visit. Obviously, it will be ace if she attaches return ticket with her application but drawback is if (God Forbid) her application gets refused then she will not might get full refund of the airline ticket. I would say attach just book/reserve the flight and attach the booking itinerary/reservation with the visa application.
Attested copy of Pension book or last 6 months pension slips should be fine. Please don't submit original property documents or pension book as there will be a problem for your mother to get monthly pensions if the originals are misplaced. You can provide attested copies of these documents and if HO wishes to see the originals (usually they don't if the documents are attested and look genuine) then they will ask later.
There is no such question in the online form where you need to tell that why you need a two year visa so she should not mention anything about this. If visa officer conduct a phone interview and ask her why she needs a two year visa then your mother can explain to them that her son is enrolled in a course duration around 2 years and she will might visit UK again.
I hope this will help.
Thanks,
Hassan

Hi Hassan,
You should submit her last 6 months bank statements. I am not sure if 3 months bank statement will do the job or not but I have always submitted 6 months bank statements for my Mum's via. I hope this will help?
Thanks,
Hassan

Dear Hassan,
Thanks for your reply. I was wondering if you can help me with one last thing.
what shall my mum write in the additional information i.e the purpose of visiting?
Is it OK to only write that she has seen me 2 years ago and now she is missing me and wants to see me again? or is there anything additional which can help me?
please give me your kind advice brother.
Regards,
Hassan

Hi Hassan,
Yes, she can write this in additional information but I would say to be specific and write that she wants to see you as its been a long time she has not seen you and also she wants to visit some popular places in UK especially London attractions. All the best.
Regards,
Hassan
