Wife English is a nightmare - Help

Post by Myenglish » Thu Aug 07, 2014 8:50 pm

My wife will be applying for ILR. To prove KOLL she has passed LIUK but not sure what to put together to satisfy English requirements.

*She has a Bachelor n Masters Degree achieved OUTSIDE UK & PBS calculator she has scored 35 / 10 English

Reading on this forum I am confused what route should we take without any potential risk

1#PBS print out with score 35 degree / 10 English + Degrees = £0 free :-)
2#UK NARIC SOC + Uni English letter + Degrees = £ 55
3#UK NARIC SOC + ELA + Degrees = £ 110
4#B1 = £ 150 approx

Guys can you please help what should I do , option 1 looks hassle free but would there be any risk? has anyone got rejected with this route....guys can you please advise.

Millions thanks in advance.

A print out should be fine in addition to LIUK.

Thanks moderator!

Do you reckon its fully safe, do you have any thread or success stories where applicants were successful ?

As I have seen ppl with even NARIC SOC running into issues :(

I can assure you that your wife will be fine as long as she has been given 30 points on qualification and 10 points on English language on the PBS calculator. I had my application approved on that same basis yesterday, no issues at all.

It's 20 or more points for qualification not 30.

I was about to reach UKNARIC to get ELA SOC, thanks for advising and saving ££

So you just added the A4 print out nothing else??, your degree was from outside UK??

wonder why ppl go for SOC ELA, mayb too stressed from UKBA like me

Anyways reading the lines again on guidance notes it says clearly, minimum 20 point and 10 for English would suffice :D .

And in SET 0 form it gives you option "A degree taught or research in english" to chose.

Yes, I have a degree from outside the UK and I only supplied my degree certificate and the print out of the PBS calculator showing the points awarded. Also need life in the UK certificate and that was it for English language and LIUK requirements.

Silly question but just trying to be thorough.

The print out should reflect all bits filled e.g Age, Earning, Qualifications, Maintenance? OR Just sreenshot print out of Qualification/English as thats what my mrs only need?
