Urgent - Allocation of COS

Hi, I am working for a company got Tier 2 Licence and requested for allocation of COS on 23 July 2014 but still waiting for COS allocation. Now my visa is expiring on 18/08/2014 and I am worried with the situation I am facing. My employer contacted with home office and explained the situation and he has been advised to send details of employee with proof showing that his visa is expiring in next few days and they will deal the request of COS allocation on urgent basis. My employer sent the email with all required information to home office but today my employer received an email from Home Office for additional information for allocation of additional COS and this information includes nature of business, for what purpose you need additional allocation etc.

My question is that after getting tier 2 licence my employer didn't receive any allocation and they requested for new allocation of COS for first time by using application management system. So, why they received this email asking for further information for additional ADDITIONAL ALLOCATION of COS, while they already provided all information at the time when they submitted their tier 2 sponsor application.

Also, any idea how long home office will take to allocate COS and what I should do if my employer doesn't get allocation before my visa expiry?

What you are describing is an unusual set of circumstances. It would suggest that there are concerns as to the roles your employer is going to fill.

This is an Asian Resturant. Home office granted Tier 2 Sponsorship to this business after their visit and they are very happy with everything. Now my employer is sending all requested information to home office today.

Being happy at a pre licence visit and getting COS are two different things.
If the role you are being put forward for is not on the shortage list then they will want to know how the business can justify the request for COS.
If your future role is PR, IT consultant, business development manager or some other strange NQF6 role for a restaurant then they will query the need for the role.
Your sponsor was lucky to get their licence as restaurants are getting refused their licences as they just can't support NQF6 roles in the majority of cases.
