Spouse extension outside UK

Please can any one help.
My Husband spouse visa expiring next month .he was granted initial 27 month visa in June 2012. we have been married since Jan 2012.

I am British national but now i m living with my husband in Dubai coz of his good job . we do have plans to go back to UK in few years after we save money.
my husband have entered UK on spouse visa twice and stay there for couple of month in 27 month. but due to job market there we decided to stay in Dubai.
Now since his visa is expiring i would like to apply extension but i need some guidance.

I would like to know:

1) can i apply for extension from Dubai, and/or can i apply via premium service from Dubai?
2) which application form i should use for spouse extension outside UK ?
3) i am IT contractor so i don't have permanent job but i have good income to show from my contracting. would that be ok for finance requirement? apart from this my husband himself has very good job and permanent income here, would that count?
4) please tell me list of supporting document needed for extension appliction.

You are unable to apply for an extension from outside of the UK as a condition of the visa is that your husband is settled in the UK and has completed the mandatory 24 months of residence at an address in the UK shared jointly with you as his sponsor. As you are now living in Dubai you won't be able to apply for extension from UK either are your husband won't qualify on financial or residential rules.

after your reply i am assuming that i will have apply fresh application when i plan to go back to UK in near future.

but some website ( i think www.workpermit.co.uk) mentioned that if couple are together for 4 yrs or more then spouse is able to apply for ILR outside the UK.
is it correct ?

That rule has cease to have effects since July 2012.

If you return you may be able to secure an extension or ILR under the Old rule, even though the rules does not state that a person should reside in the UK throughout the qualifying period, caseworker have discretion to refuse in cases like yours.

If you apply in future, the financial requirement of 18,600 will be applicable to you.
