Thanks moonlight55. I have another question. My COS states that my employment period is four years. I am now wondering if I should apply for a 3 year visa or a 5 year visa. If I do apply for a 3 year visa, should I state that my intended length of stay in the UK is 3 years even if the COS says the employment is for four years ? Please advise.moonlight55 wrote:I don't think it comes under visa rejection. You did not even apply for the visa since you were not selected in the lottery.
My employer added a sponsor note requesting a change in my family name and the end date of the COS. Do you think it is fine ? She says she checked with the lawyers and that is what they advised.moonlight55 wrote:Generally, you apply for visa to match the COS duration. So, it'll be a 4 year visa for you if the COS is for 4 years. I'm note sure what will happen if you apply for a visa for a lesser duration. Nothing mentioned in the T2 guidance. Logically, they should grant you a visa for 3 years if you apply for a 3-year visa. However, you cannot apply for extension for another year using the same COS. The COS will get expired once you use it. Gurus/Manci can confirm how it'll work in this case.
One additional question. If my employer has certified maintenance, is it ok to give office address as the answer to "What is the main address and contact details of where you will be staying whilst in the UK?" . I am planning to add a note saying that I am using the london office as residence address as I don't have a residence address at present. Please advise.moonlight55 wrote:Should be fine I think.
Thaks a lot !!moonlight55 wrote:Since you are applying from outside, its fine to give your employer address as your contact address for time being. Once you move to a permanent address in UK, you are required to send a change of address form to UKBA to update their records.
If my sponsor has certified maintenance, should I submit bank statements showing funds ? If so, can they be printouts of electronic statements ? please advise. I am submitting my application tomorrow and I somehow forgot to ask this question previously.prasad394 wrote:Thaks a lot !!moonlight55 wrote:Since you are applying from outside, its fine to give your employer address as your contact address for time being. I just received an email saying a decision has been made. However, it doesn't say what it is ? Any idea if my application has been successful or not ? Do rejections get an email too ?moonlight55 wrote:If the employer has checked the checkbox for maintenance, then there is no need to submit the bank statements. You can check this option in the CoS details print he would have given to you.
If not, you will have to show the maintenance proof.
