Passport application form question?

Post by leechouchou » Wed Aug 27, 2014 7:06 am

Hello everyone,

Just have one question here when filling in the passport application form. It says "if both parents named below we're born after 31st December 1982 OR were born abroad, we will also need the full name, town, country, date of birth and date of marriage of your grandparents (or details of your parents claim to British nationality", in section 4.

I just want to ask why they need my grandparents date of marriage? Three of my grandparents unfortunately died a long time ago. Btw, they are not British, and never leave our homeland.

If anyone have any idea, please let me know.

Many thanks

L

If you are not claiming citizenship based on your grandparents status, you do not need to fill this part.

Simply write unknown or leave it blank.

I and many others did this and happily got our passports.

If you still feel uncomfortable, just make it up.
