You are worrying for nothing mate..MVP wrote:Dear All,
My wife has made a naturalization application via NCS on 13th May 2014. we have also received an acknowledgement receipt of payment being processed from her account of £906.00 on 22nd May 2014. Then after we have not had any update on her application.
we have wrote to the address:
UK Border Agency
Nationality Group
PO Box 306
Liverpool
L2 0QN
on 11th August 2014 but have not heard anything yet,
we have also sent an email : "ukbanationalityenquiries@ukba.gsi.gov.uk" on 20th Aug 2014 but still not had any response on the status of the application.
Reading through to the guidance notes, it says if you have not attended the ceremony in 90 days from the date of the issue of the letter you will have to apply again!
so I am curious (I know it;s not been full 6months from the date of an application) if we have lost the letter in the post and we have never received it, what if you go pass that 90 days of time...
can some one please help on any specific telephone number to contact for the application status?
thank you for your help in advance,
Regards
MVP
I'm an EEA national as well and I was wondering if you applied right away after you had 5 years marriage or an year after that?polpol wrote:Eligibility criteria: EEA National - PR holder, Spouse of British Citizen
Language criteria met: ESOL Skills for Life & Life in The UK test
Current nationality: Polish
Method of application: NCS
Council name if NCS used: Camden
Date of application: 02 May 2014
Payment method: Debit Card
Date of receipt by UKBA: 06 May 2014
Date of acknowledgement: mid May 2014
Date of debit or clearance of fees: late May 2014
Date approval received: 29 August 2014, letter dated 18 August 2014
Date of ceremony: To be booked.
This was a straight forward application according to the lady at Camden. My advice to EEA nationals would be to take the time to get PR first and then it simplifies the further process. Thanks for all the information provided in this forum. This is a great service. To those waiting - as difficult as it is - just realise that it might take 4-5 months to get a response at their current rate of processing.
chrisonzen - I applied for PR as an EU national exercising Treaty rights over a five year period. Once I got the PR confirmed, I applied immediately for citizenship based on marriage to UK citizen. Otherwise I would have had to wait 12 months to apply for citizenship.chrisonzen wrote:I'm an EEA national as well and I was wondering if you applied right away after you had 5 years marriage or an year after that?polpol wrote:Eligibility criteria: EEA National - PR holder, Spouse of British Citizen
