T2G extension with being promoted??

HI, I got my T2G visa on 01/10/2011 as IT systems administrator (SoC 3131) and I got promoted to IT manger last year. My HR said she will notify home office about title change but not sure if she did. I am going to apply renewal this week and I am wondering what SoC code i should apply under? I have read in this forum that SoC change might trigger RLMT. Any suggestions?

Yes, a SOC change means a new RLMT needs to be conducted (unless your new code falls under the SOC list OR you are paid 153,500 or above).

My HR manager says that she has notified UKBA about my promotion when it happened so it won't be a problem. Or it doesn't need RLMT. Is that right? I don't want to end up with a rejection.

Right, my previous SOC was 2132 and now I got 2133 because our HR couldn't find relevant Title/Responsibilities within in the same SOC (2132). As my title now is IT manager she has given me 2133. I am really worried. Could someone at least tell what will happen? what are chances of visa approval. I am really not expecting any surprises. Thanks

since there is a change in SOC code, a RLMT will need to be conducted.
If i were u, i would not apply for extension without proof that RLMT has been conducted.

SOC code 2132 has been replaced by SOC codes 2135, 2136 and 2139. As long as the SOC code in the CoS is one of these three replacement codes RLMT is not needed, otherwise it is and the CoS cannot be assigned without the sponsor doing an RLMT beforehand.

The job title is less important than the job description which should match the description in the codes of practice as closely as possible:

Once the sponsor assigned the CoS, and before you apply, ask them for a printout and check it thoroughly.

£44k. HR said if she gives 2135 or 2136 or 2139 it would drag an attention of UKBA as there is massive Salary difference. Hoping to sort this on Monday as my MD is involved in this now.
