Housing Benefits

Post by imraheel » Sun Sep 07, 2014 12:36 pm

Hello Amber and Everyone,

I got uk indefinite visa in Apr 2014 on the basis of ten years. My two sons got british passports last week as they were born in uk. My wife got flr(m) spouse visa in Jun 2014. She has no resource to public funds.

I applied for housing benefit last month. My council accepted my housing benefit application and they are giving me the housing benefit now.

As my wife has no resource to public funds, can I get housing benefit? Please advise me in detail?

Regards,

Only you and your children can be taken into consideration when calculating the amount of HB you are entitled to.

Thanks Casa for your reply.

Council has started paying me housing benefit. How can I confirm that whether they considered my wife or not while calculating the housing benefit? The reason for worrying about this matter is that when I will apply the flr(m) spouse visa extension for my wife in the future, there won't be any problem her.

Can anyone advise me?

Ask them.
